With all the hype going on, I’ve finally moved my studio site fully to custom code + AI. And I have to admit, the hype this time is legit Way before Webflow and AI, I was a custom code purist but it was more friction to iterate and generally harder for clients to manage. Webflow solved that for me for years. Now I’ve moved the MONOLOG site to Astro + Keystatic CMS, building alongside Claude Code, and the speed of iteration has been kind of ridiculous + the reduced bloat too. It’s also changing how I think about client deliverables. AI is becoming such a big part of our workflow that I want to explore handing over things like custom AI frameworks, prompts and systems clients can actually use to extend their brand themselves. The main thing I’m still solving is the CMS experience. Custom code gives you more control and AI makes you move so fast, but the editing experience still needs to feel just as good for the client. With that said, Webflow is still a really solid option for clients. I just think we’ll increasingly choose the stack based on how the client actually works, not what we prefer building with (as it always should be...)
